Udderbelly Festival & Wonderground Festival

Headline is proud to have provided security for high profile, exciting festivals, including both Udderbelly and Wonderground Festival.

Providing security services for a festival requires organisation, a close attention to detail and a flexible service with fast response times. Headline is proud to have provided security services for the summer comedy festival, Udderbelly Festival and the circus entertainment festival, Wonderground Festival, both located on the Southbank, London. Both of these events required a long term service, with Udderbelly running from April to August and Wonderground running throughout August and September.

These festivals required a highly vigilant service, with a total of 4,300 visitors attending between the hours of 11am and 12 midnight at various different areas for our team to keep watch over. The Udderbelly Festival included daily comedy shows, circus shows & children’s shows located in the following areas:

  • 1 x 600 capacity tent (Spiegel Tent)
  • 1 x 420 capacity tent (Udderbelly Tent)
  • Pasture Bar Area
  • Spiegel Bar Area
  • VIP Bar Area

The Wonderground Festival included daily circus shows, 18+ shows, acrobatic performances & children’s shows in a different variety of areas, which meant a slight adaption of our services. The areas included the following:

  • 1 x 600 capacity tent (Spiegel Tent)
  • 1 x Star Flyer amusement park ride
  • 1 x 2 storey Cider Lodge Bar
  • 1 x Spiegel Bar area

What Headline Security Supplied

The main objectives of this job were to assist in the smooth running of the festivals, ensuring all security/site procedures were adhered to. We were also on hand to respond, deal with and log any incidents or occurrences and follow any requests from the site management. The specific services we provided were as follows:

  • Providing security during the build of the site and limiting access to ensure only authorised personnel are present as well as managing delivery vehicles
  • Monitoring and patrolling the perimeter and tackling any health and safety issues
  • Providing security and first aid during the opening hours of each festival
  • Providing security during closure times to ensure no unauthorised access to the site
  • Monitor movement of the crowd and queues to attractions during busy periods
  • Monitor the general public to ensure appropriate behaviour and that no alcohol is brought onto or leaves the site as well as providing relevant information to visitors
  • Providing a security and health and safety presence during the break down of the site

Our strategy ensured that each festival ran smoothly and attendees enjoyed themselves in a safe, friendly environment. A long term project like this requires a continuously high level of service which we are proud to have achieved throughout.
